Perivolos und Agios Georgios Beach

The beaches of Perivolos and Agios Georgios connect to the Perissa beach and extend from there in a south-westerly direction over a length of 1.5 kilometers. The boundaries of the beaches are not recognizable, so we describe the two beaches together.

The beaches consist of fine black gravel, which can get very hot in summer. On very hot days you should wear your shoes to the water. The sea is very clear, as the fine gravel does not stir up sand. There is little natural shade on Perivolos and Agios Georgios beaches. Of course, this is also due to the fact that renting sun loungers and parasols is a very profitable business.

All day long, a bevy of beach vendors offer their goods and services on the beach, from sunglasses to watches to massages you get something constantly on offer. Under no circumstances have a “personalized” bracelet created for you on a “trial”, not paying for it can be difficult.

Eating and drinking at Perivolos and Agios Georgios beach

Behind the beach there is a street that is also used as a promenade with a number of restaurants and beach bars. The offer is diverse and ranges from shops with a more traditional touch to trendy localities. In the off-season you can often use the sun loungers in the beach bars and restaurants for free if you order something there.

Directly behind the beaches are the villages of Perivolos and Agios Georgios, here you can rent accommodation. The prices are usually cheaper here than in neighboring Perissa.

How to get to Perivolos and Agios Georgios beach

Perivolos and Agios Georgios beaches are 11 kilometers south of Fira. From Fira you take the road towards the port and follow the signs towards Perissa and shortly before you turn right towards Perivolos or Agios Georgios.

There are plenty of parking spaces right behind Perivolos and Agios Georgios.
